Ritu Kumar serves as Senior Director, Sustainability and ESG, Emerging Markets at TPG, based in London, driving environmental, social, and governance strategies across investments. Holding Master's degrees in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and International Economics from the London School of Economics, she brings over 25 years of expertise in sustainable development and climate policy.

Kumar previously led sustainability at CDC Group (2014-2020), developing environmental and social standards for investments, and at Actis (2006-2013), where she implemented ESG policies, energy efficiency projects, and green building adaptations in Africa. Earlier roles include environment consultant at the Commonwealth Science Council and Industrial Development Officer at UNIDO, focusing on clean energy and sustainable industrial strategies in developing countries.

She has served on boards including the Global Climate Partnership Fund and contributed to panels on impact measurement in healthcare investments, emphasizing standardized metrics, long-term outcomes, and narrative reporting. Fluent in French and Hindi, Kumar holds a FT Non-Executive Director Diploma and champions ESG risk reduction and value creation in emerging markets.
